Since the age of 5, Cara has been professionally trained in music, specializing in the contemporary and traditional Chinese zither, the Guzheng. As a youth, she had the honor of securing first place in numerous professional competitions with this instrument. In 2011, she proudly graduated in 2nd place from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music.

Cara achieved her bachelor's degree from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and later earned her master’s degree at QUT.

Throughout her academic journey, she has been fortunate to study under the guidance of esteemed educators and performers such as Assoc. Prof. Tianli Zhou, Prof. Qian Jiang, Prof. Miao Liu, Prof. Chengyu He, and Prof. Ningxin Rao.

In the past few years, Cara has strived to contribute to Brisbane's multicultural scene. She aimed to share the sound of the Guzheng with Australian audiences. For instance, she formed the Echo of Jade music collective and held a concert at BEMAC. Additionally, she participated in Slow Boat at the Brisbane Festival, the Brisbane Asia Festival, and an ABC recording.

2007 1st prize of the Guzheng Professional Group in the Sichuan Division of the China. International Music and Art Competition

1st prize of ‘Art China’ Youth International Exhibition and Exchange Activity Sichuan Division -Guzheng Project -Youth Group

2008  1st Prize of professional group Chinese international musical performance competition -Sichuan regional

Professional group- 1st Prize --22nd international musical and Art competition- China western regional

2011 Graduated in 2nd place from Affiliated high school of Sichuan Conservatory of Music.

2013 Participate in the opening ceremony of ‘Fortune Global Forum’ in Chengdu

2016 Invited by Confucius Institute of University of Queensland for performance

Invited to be the instructor of the Guzheng Group of the Queensland Chinese Music. Association

2018 Invited by Chinese festival performance at Brisbane City Hall

2020 Member of the Sichuan Musicians Association Guzheng Society

2021 Obtained the certificate of "Analysis of Chinese Guzheng Art"

2022 Invited by < Slow boat> as Guzheng Musician ,played for Brisbane festival.

     Chinese music department manager in YW MUSIC promote Asian culture for the community.

2023 Invited to recording <Impressions of four seasons >as part of a cross-cultural ensemble. for ABC

     Invited to recording background music for <White China>

Invited by AusOriental Inc. for <Dunhuang> chamber music first showed in Brisbane

     1st Prize of professional group of 2023 Shanghai international music festival -Traditional Chinese music competition in Australia-New Zealand division.

2024 Hold cross-culture concert of Echo of Jade at BEMAC. (gathered 7 musicians and 5 composers from Australia, US and China. 5 world premiere song and 1 Australia premiere song are released in this concert.)
